BSG is passionate about creating a culture of continuous learning for its employees. In keeping with that value, 13 BSGers attended the BSG-championed Johannesburg meet-up of the Scrum User Group of South Africa (SUGSA) on 14 October. The topic was two-pronged: AgileBut, which refers to an exposed dysfunction that contributes to a problem, but is too hard to fix, and “TDD is Difficult”, a discussion about what makes TDD (Test-driven development) difficult, why we do it and how it might be applied.

The keynote speaker, Terence Kruger, is an agile practitioner with 15 years of experience. He shared that “a lot of agile concepts are very ‘obvious’ once pointed out, but not before.” The TDD meet-up pulled a great turnout of over 80 people, all of whom were excited to learn from an industry expert.

Terence took the attendees through his journey and experience with TDD and the lessons he learnt on his journey to mastering this “difficult and time-consuming skill.”

BSG strives to ensure its consultants and developers are equipped to adequately manage the requirements of the innovations it is part of. This approach ensures that BSG is able to deliver maximum value to its clients, while managing stakeholder and business expectations.
