February at BSG has become synonymous with the beginning of the organisation’s Graduate Development Programme (GDP). This 12-month development programme gives the organisation’s new consultants and developers a holistic career experience, designed to equip them with the skills and knowledge they will need to develop the mastery levels required within a Professional Consulting business. The 2015 programme kicked off on Monday, 2 February with a 10 day long induction process of the 15 new consultants and developers, who join BSG from a range of universities across the country.
BSG’s GDP is one of the most robust industry induction programmes currently available to Information Systems (IS) and Computer Science (CompSci) Honours graduates entering the IT industry. Each graduate entering the BSG family, whether as a consultant or developer undergoes a 12-month experiential learning-based programme strategically crafted to ensure that he or she is able to fully explore all the career possibilities available at BSG.
The programme involves a combination of technical development, EQ mastery and broad-based experiential training. The approach, honed over BSG’s almost two decades of experience, ensures that these young professionals are enabled to accelerate their careers and in turn create positive change for their clients and themselves.
The GDP marks the culmination of the organisation’s Graduate Recruitment Programme (GRP), which runs from February to September each year. The programme starts with a series of guest lectures at leading universities across the country, hosted by representatives from BSG’s consulting and technology divisions. Other highlights in the GRP calendar include the BSG Internship Programme in June and July, and the Selectorthon, which takes place in September each year. All successful candidates emerging from the GRP form part of the following year’s GDP.
